Andy Warhol's Campbell's Soup Cans II: Hot Dog Bean, 1963 screen print, red and white soup can design with bold typography.

Signed, dated and numbered - Screenprint on paper // Campbell's Soup Cans II: Hot Dog Bean is a 1969 screen print by Andy Warhol, part of his iconic Campbell’s Soup series. This particular print features a can of Hot Dog Bean soup, rendered in Warhol’s characteristic bold, flat colors and commercial style. The print is a playful commentary on consumer culture, with Warhol elevating everyday supermarket items into high art. The vibrant red, yellow, and black tones create a striking contrast against the white background, and the typography adds to the design’s retro commercial aesthetic. Warhol’s work reflects his fascination with mass production and the role of advertising in shaping modern life. This print is signed, dated, and part of a limited edition of 250, with 26 artist's proofs.

What is pop-art?

Pop Art is an art movement that began in Britain in 1955 and in the late 1950s in the U.S. It challenged traditional fine arts by incorporating imagery from popular culture, such as news, advertising, and comic books. Pop Art often isolates and recontextualizes materials, combining them with unrelated elements. The movement is more about the attitudes and ideas that inspired it than the specific art itself. Pop Art is seen as a reaction against the dominant ideas of Abstract Expressionism, bringing everyday consumer culture into the realm of fine art.
