// Antoni Clavé's Hommage à Domenikos - Cadre bleu, a lithograph from 1965, pays tribute to the artist’s admiration for the great master El Greco, whose real name was Domenikos Theotokopoulos. This piece, measuring 65 by 50 cm, combines earthy browns and deep blues with layered abstract forms and symbolic patterns. At the center, a rectangular motif draws the eye, surrounded by a textured border that evokes an almost architectural frame. The layered composition and rich textures suggest an exploration of history and reverence for the past. With an edition size of only 30, plus a few HC and PA copies, this work exemplifies Clavé's skill in blending abstraction with homage, inviting viewers to reflect on the enduring legacy of artistic masters.

What is minimalism?
Minimalism is a style in music and visual arts characterized by pared-down designs and simplicity. It began in Western art after World War II, gaining prominence particularly in American visual arts. Minimalism draws heavily on aspects of modernism and is often viewed as a reaction against Abstract Expressionism, as well as a precursor to post-minimal art practices. Prominent minimalist artists include Agnes Martin, Donald Judd, Robert Morris, Frank Stella, and Dan Flavin.
