Silkscreesn Hand Embossed 140lb Cold Press Aquarelel Paper // Charles Hinman's Agate is a minimalistic silkscreen print on hand-embossed 140lb cold press Aquarelle paper, showcasing his signature use of line and form to evoke spatial depth. Thin, colored lines in red, blue, and yellow outline sharp geometric shapes that intersect and overlap subtly, creating a sense of three-dimensionality against the white background. The delicate embossing adds a tactile quality, enhancing the visual play of light and shadow on the paper’s textured surface. Hinman's work here explores the balance between precision and simplicity, inviting the viewer to consider the spatial possibilities within restrained abstract forms.

What is minimalism?
Minimalism is a style in music and visual arts characterized by pared-down designs and simplicity. It began in Western art after World War II, gaining prominence particularly in American visual arts. Minimalism draws heavily on aspects of modernism and is often viewed as a reaction against Abstract Expressionism, as well as a precursor to post-minimal art practices. Prominent minimalist artists include Agnes Martin, Donald Judd, Robert Morris, Frank Stella, and Dan Flavin.
