Lithograph in colors, on smooth laid paper, with full margins; Signed, dated and numbered in pencil on the back; Excellent. A few imperfections on the face of the print, otherwise in beautiful condition given the age and medium of the print. Very minor residual framing marks on the reverse. Some other minor imperfections may exist given the nature and age of the material; Unframed // Christopher Wool's Untitled (Kölnischer Kunstverein), created in 1991, is a lithograph on smooth laid paper, distinguished by a vibrant yellow background speckled with abstract floral and organic motifs in black. These scattered impressions create a gradient effect, moving from dense patterns at the top to a lighter spread towards the bottom, giving the piece a dynamic sense of movement and depth. The work reflects Wool’s characteristic exploration of repetition, pattern, and abstraction, inviting viewers to lose themselves in the rhythmic yet chaotic arrangement. Despite minor imperfections due to age, the print remains a captivating study in color and texture.

What is pop-art?
Pop Art is an art movement that began in Britain in 1955 and in the late 1950s in the U.S. It challenged traditional fine arts by incorporating imagery from popular culture, such as news, advertising, and comic books. Pop Art often isolates and recontextualizes materials, combining them with unrelated elements. The movement is more about the attitudes and ideas that inspired it than the specific art itself. Pop Art is seen as a reaction against the dominant ideas of Abstract Expressionism, bringing everyday consumer culture into the realm of fine art.
