Günther Förg's Mr. Blue, Mr. Orange, Mr. Brown, Mr. Green, four-part mixed media on copper with bold color backgrounds and organic beige forms.

4-part work: each tempera on copper on panel. Each 40.3 x 29.5 x 2.3 cm. Each signed and numbered on edition label verso. Numbered - The edition was published on the occasion of the exhibition "Günther Förg. To the builders" // Mr. Blue, Mr. Orange, Mr. Brown, Mr. Green by Günther Förg is a four-part limited edition print series created in 2002. Each panel—painted with tempera on copper and mounted on panel—features a minimalistic arrangement of organic, beige-colored vertical forms against bold, solid-colored backgrounds (blue, orange, brown, and green). The simple, elongated shapes seem to float against their contrasting backgrounds, evoking both abstract expressionist and minimalistic influences. The use of copper adds a subtle sheen and durability, lending the work a unique material quality. Published on the occasion of the exhibition Günther Förg. To the builders, each piece is signed and numbered, reinforcing its collectible and exclusive nature.

What is Hard Edge Art?

Hard Edge art is a style of abstract painting that became popular in the 1960s. It features areas of color separated by crisp, sharp edges that are painted with geometric precision. The term hard-edge painting was coined by art critic Jules Langsner to describe this approach, which contrasts with the softer, more fluid forms of other abstract styles.
