Lithograph printed in colors with collage of cloth, brown wrapping paper, and latex paint on several layers of cardboard - 1994-1995 // Wrapped Floors and Covered Windows, Museum Würth by Christo Javacheff is a 1994 limited edition print that combines lithography with collage elements, including cloth, brown wrapping paper, and latex paint layered on cardboard. Known for his large-scale environmental art, Christo’s works often challenge perceptions of space and material. This piece captures a room with its floor and windows veiled, transforming an ordinary interior into a scene of mystery and containment. The draped cloth on the floor and the blocked windows evoke themes of concealment, inviting viewers to question what lies beneath the coverings. The dynamic lines of the architecture and the layered textures add depth, while the color palette—mainly grays and muted tones—emphasizes the spatial transformation central to Christo’s vision.

What is pop-art?
Pop Art is an art movement that began in Britain in 1955 and in the late 1950s in the U.S. It challenged traditional fine arts by incorporating imagery from popular culture, such as news, advertising, and comic books. Pop Art often isolates and recontextualizes materials, combining them with unrelated elements. The movement is more about the attitudes and ideas that inspired it than the specific art itself. Pop Art is seen as a reaction against the dominant ideas of Abstract Expressionism, bringing everyday consumer culture into the realm of fine art.
