Published by Atelier Maeght Levallois. - Suite: Flux de l'Aimant. - Original drypoint etching with aquatint on paper. - Hand-signed by the artist. Untitled X from "Flux de l'Aimant" (1964) by Joan Miró exemplifies the artist's signature abstract style, blending fluid linework with carefully placed color accents. The composition consists of delicate, organic black lines that form whimsical, free-flowing shapes, contrasted by small bursts of blue, red, yellow, and green aquatint. These elements evoke a sense of movement and spontaneity, reminiscent of Miró’s fascination with the subconscious and the cosmos. Part of the Flux de l'Aimant suite, this drypoint etching with aquatint was published by Atelier Maeght Levallois in a rare edition of 75. Signed by the artist, it reflects Miró’s poetic and dreamlike visual language.

What is Surrealism?

Surrealism began in the 1920s as an art and literary movement with the goal of revealing the unconscious mind and unleashing the imagination by exploring unusual and dream-like imagery. Influenced by Sigmund Freud’s theories of psychoanalysis, Surrealist artists and writers sought to bring the unconscious into rational life, blurring the lines between reality and dreams. The movement aimed to challenge conventional perceptions and express the irrational aspects of the human experience.
