Continuous computer animations on LED screen, presented in a walnut enclosure specified by the artist - Signed and numbered to verso // Dancing Figure 1 by Julian Opie, created in 2023, is part of his series featuring continuous computer animations displayed on an LED screen, housed in a walnut enclosure. The artwork presents a minimalist, stylized human figure in motion, captured mid-dance in a pixelated, monochrome form. The figure's posture and simple lines convey a sense of rhythm and fluidity. The walnut frame contrasts with the high-tech LED display, adding a natural warmth to the modern digital artwork. Opie’s work is an exploration of movement, form, and the intersection of traditional and digital media.

What is new British Sculpture?
New British Sculpture is the name referring to the work produced by a group of sculptors, installation artists, and other creators who exhibited together in London during the 1980s. This group included artists like Richard Deacon, Richard Wentworth, and Tony Cragg. Tim Woods helped define this movement by identifying four major themes: the blending of kitsch and pop culture, the use of UK urban waste in a bricolage style, the assignment of new meanings to everyday objects, and a playful approach using wit and humor.
