Original screen-print in colors on wove paper - Published by the Keith Haring Estate - Artist's signature in the plate, signed in pencil by Julian Gruen, the executor of the Keith Haring Estate, and numbered in pencil // Keith Haring's Plate 7 (from The Story of Red + Blue) is a limited edition screen-print created in 1989. This vibrant artwork exemplifies Haring's bold, graphic style and use of symbolism. It features a central figure holding a red arc, reminiscent of a rainbow, drawn in Haring's characteristic thick black lines. The figure's expression is serene yet powerful, possibly symbolizing strength or protection. The red, a recurring color in Haring's work, is balanced by black Japanese-inspired script to the left. This piece is part of a series published posthumously by the Keith Haring Estate, signed by Julian Gruen, the executor, and numbered in pencil. Haring’s legacy of bridging art with social commentary is evident in this dynamic print.

What is Figuration Libre?
Figuration Libre is an art movement that is equivalent to the French Bad Painting and Neo-Expressionism in Europe and America. The term was coined by Ben Vautier and the Fluxus movement. In 1981, Robert Combas, François Boisrond, Hervé Di Rosa, and Rémi Blanchard formed the Figuration Libre group. The term can be interpreted as free style art, emphasizing spontaneity, freedom, and a rejection of traditional artistic conventions.
