Screenprint on aluminium - Incised with signature, numbered and dated // Keith Haring's Pyramid (Gold 1) (1989) is a striking screenprint on aluminum that exemplifies Haring’s signature use of vibrant line work and iconic motifs. The triangular composition is densely filled with Haring's recognizable figures—dancing humans, animals, and abstract shapes—all interwoven in a rhythmic, energetic pattern. The gold surface of the aluminum adds a reflective quality, enhancing the dynamic nature of the piece, while the blue-green lines create a stark contrast against the metallic background. The shapes and symbols seem to pulse with life, capturing Haring's ability to communicate social and cultural themes through simple yet powerful imagery. This limited edition work is incised with Haring’s signature, dated, and numbered, making it a valuable example of his late career output, produced the year before his untimely death.

What is Figuration Libre?
Figuration Libre is an art movement that is equivalent to the French Bad Painting and Neo-Expressionism in Europe and America. The term was coined by Ben Vautier and the Fluxus movement. In 1981, Robert Combas, François Boisrond, Hervé Di Rosa, and Rémi Blanchard formed the Figuration Libre group. The term can be interpreted as free style art, emphasizing spontaneity, freedom, and a rejection of traditional artistic conventions.
