// Michael Craig-Martin’s The Catalan Suite II - iPhone (2013) is a limited edition etching that captures a minimalist and iconic representation of an iPhone. Craig-Martin is known for his crisp, simplified depictions of everyday objects, which he presents in a way that invites viewers to contemplate their significance in contemporary life. Here, the iPhone, rendered in subtle colors with clean lines, occupies the center of a stark, empty background, emphasizing its cultural status and ubiquity. This work reflects Craig-Martin’s interest in the impact of technology and consumer items on modern identity, drawing attention to the iPhone as both a functional device and a symbol of personal and cultural connectivity.

Who are the Young British Artists - YBA
Young British Artists (YBAs), also known as Britart or Brit artists, refers to a group of artists who began exhibiting together in London in 1988. Most of them graduated from the BA Fine Arts course at Goldsmiths in the late 1980s. The YBAs are known for their wild lifestyles, use of unconventional materials, and a combination of entrepreneurial and oppositional attitudes. They dominated the British art scene in the 1990s and gained significant media attention. Many of these artists were initially supported and collected by Charles Saatchi, a key figure in their rise to prominence.
