Mixed media on canvas - with certificate by the artist. // Banksy Thrower and Einstein by Mr. Brainwash is a 2014 mixed-media artwork that combines iconic imagery with vibrant, graffiti-style backgrounds. This piece depicts Banksy's well-known figure of a protester poised to throw a bouquet instead of a weapon, juxtaposed with Albert Einstein holding a sign stating Love is the Answer. The background is an eclectic mix of cultural icons, including portraits of historical and pop figures like Jean-Michel Basquiat, Andy Warhol, and Kate Moss, layered with colorful paint drips and graffiti tags. Mr. Brainwash’s work celebrates street art and pop culture, blending irony and optimism in a chaotic, visually dense composition. This piece invites viewers to contemplate the messages of peace, love, and rebellion through familiar faces and symbols.

What is pop-art?
Pop Art is an art movement that began in Britain in 1955 and in the late 1950s in the U.S. It challenged traditional fine arts by incorporating imagery from popular culture, such as news, advertising, and comic books. Pop Art often isolates and recontextualizes materials, combining them with unrelated elements. The movement is more about the attitudes and ideas that inspired it than the specific art itself. Pop Art is seen as a reaction against the dominant ideas of Abstract Expressionism, bringing everyday consumer culture into the realm of fine art.
