Femme assise ( Dora Maar)

Pablo Picasso lithograph Nue Au Faubourg St. Honoré, 1970, depicting a fragmented female figure with bold strokes in orange, blue, and black.

Original color offset lithograph on glossy wove paper. Reference: Czwiklitzer 357 Hand-signed and numbered by Pablo Picasso in red crayon in the upper right. Pablo Picasso’s Nue Au Faubourg St. Honoré (1970) is a bold and expressive color offset lithograph that showcases his late-career exploration of form and abstraction. The composition presents a fragmented and distorted female figure, rendered in dynamic strokes of orange, blue, and black, with exaggerated facial features and a striking sense of movement. The textured, almost sculptural quality of the lines, along with the interplay of color and shape, reflects Picasso’s enduring fascination with deconstructing the human form. Signed and numbered in red crayon, this lithograph is part of an edition of 100. Created just three years before his passing, it exemplifies Picasso’s unrelenting creativity and his continued innovation in printmaking.

What is Cubism?

Cubism is an art movement that aimed to depict multiple perspectives of objects or figures within a single picture. Artists Georges Braque and Pablo Picasso pioneered this style around 1907. The name Cubism emerged from their use of geometric shapes and outlines that often resembled cubes, breaking objects down into abstracted forms.
