Lithograph on Rives BFK paper // Haystack #6 by Roy Lichtenstein, created in 1969, is a lithograph on Rives BFK paper, part of a limited edition of 100. Measuring 20.6 by 30.75 inches, this artwork is a striking example of Lichtenstein’s use of Ben-Day dots and bold color. The red and black pattern forms a stylized, almost abstract depiction of haystacks, referencing both the agricultural motif and the mechanized aesthetic typical of Lichtenstein's work. The piece draws from the Pop Art movement, transforming everyday scenes into graphic compositions that challenge perceptions of art and mass media.

What is site specific art?
Site-Specific Art is a form of artwork created to exist in a particular location, with the artist considering the site as an integral part of the creative process. Robert Irwin was a key figure in promoting this art form in California. Site-Specific Art emerged as a reaction against modernist objects, which were often portable, commodified, and confined to museum spaces. In contrast, Site-Specific Art is inherently tied to its location, challenging the traditional notions of art as a transportable and marketable commodity.
