Renowned for his work across a wide range of subject matter, Thomas Struth is a photographer whose portfolio includes Australian rainforests, inner city scenes and intimate portraits; his New Pictures from Paradise, eight separate large-format photographs, captures the natural beauty of the Daintree rainforest – Struth has described the series as his ‘most intuitive work’. Of his creative process, Struth has stated “when I am taking a photograph, I am conscious that I am constructing images rather than taking snapshots” - a concept exhibited in his most notable work, the Museum Photographs, an intimate and candid series that captured museum visitors as they admired works of art.
