Antonio Ballester Moreno

Original Signed Artworks & Limited Edition Prints For Sale

Antonio Ballester Moreno’s work is deeply connected to the natural world through its use of symbolism, color and repetition. Moreno’s medium of acrylic paint on jute fabric inherently links his creations to the earth. The jute vegetable fibre explicitly connects his workings to the land, for the land is physically supplying the means for Moreno’s expression.

« I copy my son´s drawings and I use them as sketches for big paintings. »
Antonio Ballester Moreno
Owning a cabin in the countryside, Moreno finds himself inspired by the reclusive lifestyle there within the embrace of nature. This is further represented in his work through Moreno’s meaningful use of color. Yellow for light, blue for water, and the mixing of both to create green, for vegetation. Furthermore, shapes play a crucial role in his paintings. Circles for the moon and sun cycles, and triangles for trees and mountains. This simplistic approach to storytelling plainly displays the beauty of our natural world. Paintings such as his 2019 Azul, or 2020’s Planetas, are simple in their execution, yet possess a story and message so vivid. It’s through these handcrafted geometries plainly reflecting the shapes of nature that Antonio Ballester Moreno is able to build a subtle world filled with variety and symbolic composition.
