She made political statements on behalf of women towards equality. Nancy Spero tried to radiate equality and tolerance throughout most of her work. Spero worked her forms in such a way in her art as to not create a hierarchy of any sort in her work. She wanted her work to speak to people in such a way that society itself would begin to change to equality and tolerance and thereby the things from which she drew her ideas, like the holocaust, the Vietnam War would no longer exist in this world.
