Laure Prouvost is a French-born artist who resides and works in London, England. She is best known as an installation artist. However, Laure Prouvost's work includes the art forms of collage, installation, and film in combination. The artist studied film at Central Saint Martins (CSM) and also attended Goldsmiths, which is part of the University of London. Both schools are located in London. Laure Prouvost also worked as an assistant to Conceptual artist John Latham. In her work, Laure Prouvost skews expected and ordinary connections between image, perception, and language. Not afraid to go the non-traditional route, the artist explores a unique relationship between imagination and reality, as well as allows audiences to be open to abstract meaning in her work. Laure Prouvost has exhibited her work throughout the U.K. and Europe. Her first museum exhibition in the United States was titled For Forgetting in 2014. In 2013, she won the Turner Prize for an installation called Wantee, which is her most regarded and well-known installation to date. (Artist website)
