Robert Barry (b. 1936 USA) is an American conceptual artist, celebrated for his innovative use of invisible media and abstract forms. A graduate of Hunter College, Barry studied under influential artists like William Baziotes, which shaped his unique approach to art. His work transcends the physical appearance of objects, focusing instead on what lies beyond the visible. Though primarily recognized as a Conceptual artist, Barry's work also aligns with Contemporary art, incorporating elements of abstraction. His art often includes unconventional materials such as carrier waves from radio stations or inert gases contained in various vessels, pushing the boundaries of traditional media. Some of his most famous works, such as Something In A Box and Taking Your Time, have been exhibited in major art shows and museums worldwide, solidifying his place in the avant-garde of modern art.
