Marina Abramovic (b. 1946 Serbia) is a pioneering performance artist whose work explores the limits of the body and the mind. Known as the "grandmother of Performance Art," Abramovic uses her own body as a medium to test endurance, pain, and the psychology of the self. Her works often involve audience interaction, transforming the viewers into participants. Abramovic’s work pushes boundaries, challenging both her own physical limits and those of the art world. (Artist website)
