Roni Horn
Roni Horn (United States, 1955) is an American visual artist and writer whose multidisciplinary work explores themes of identity, perception, and the natural environment. Utilizing mediums such as sculpture, photography, and drawing, Horn often engages with the Icelandic landscape, creating pieces that challenge viewers' understanding of place and self.

Celebrated for her wide-ranging body of work that tackles themes such as gender, natural phenomena and language, Roni Horn works across the mediums of photography, print and installation among others. One of Horn’s most notable installations is You in You – the piece is situated in Basel’s east train station and is comprised of rubber tiles in the style of a walkway, mimicking an unusual basalt formation found in Iceland; Horn has travelled around Iceland throughout her life and has been largely inspired by its geographical formations and the isolation found among its landscapes. Horn has also been heavily influenced by the work of 19th century poet, Emily Dickinson – When Dickinson Shuts Her Eyes is a structural series comprised of eight poles, varying in length and each bearing a different line from Dickinson’s poem, A Wind That Rose.
