Body Art

What is body art?

Body art involves creating art directly on or with the human body. Common forms include body piercings and tattoos, but it also encompasses practices like branding, scarification, scalping, body painting, full-body tattoos, body shaping, and sub-dermal implants. Body art can also refer to a subcategory of performance art where the artist's body is central to the artwork.

Archival Print

An archival print refers to a fine art reproduction of museum quality, created using the highest quality materials and methods. These prints are produced on the finest papers and with inks specifically designed to resist color fading over time. Drawings and paintings are reproduced using a fine art printer with exceptionally high resolution, ensuring longevity and preservation of the artwork.

Plaster

Plaster is a mixture of heat-treated powdered gypsum combined with water to create a workable material. It can be used to make solid sculptures, cast in molds, carved, modeled, or attached to other materials. Artists have used plaster for both working models and finished artworks for centuries due to its versatility.

Bricolage

Bricolage is the creation or construction of a piece of art using materials that are readily available to the artist. The term is French and roughly translates to do-it-yourself. This approach became popular when materials were scarce, encouraging artists to improvise and repurpose everyday objects. Bricolage emphasizes creativity and resourcefulness, often resulting in artworks that reflect the unique character of the materials used.
